I guess that when I think of my life I am reminded of the old Kinks song
"You Can’t Stop the Music". I say this because for so many years in my
life I tried to stop the music and just couldn’t do it. Save for the last
couple of years, I’ve spent the last 15 years trying to stop it or at least
trying to hide it. As a youth the music played long and loud and it was
only after a very unpleasant experience in my early twenties that I tried
to scratch the records and throw away the tapes. I didn’t take long to
realize that I couldn’t stop the music, but it took a long time for me
to be able to once again share it with others. I’ve lost a lot of years
trying to hide the music; if I can accomplish only one thing here it would
be to always share my music and to try to help others share theirs.
Ok, I guess it’s time for some vital statistics. I’m a Pre-Op TS
that has FINALLY started HRT this year <yipeeeeeeeeee!!!>. I live in
the most wonderful place in the United States, Ft. Lauderdale Florida (ok,
so I’m prejudice). I work in a small Internet software company that’s growing
very rapidly. As you have probably already guessed, I love music. I also
love to read and to cook.
I guess if I could give you one thought to leave with, it would
be don’t be afraid or ashamed to be yourself. I spent far too many years
playing a role and acting a part. It was no good for me; it was no good
for the people around me. If you’re not able to love yourself, you cannot
love others.
