Duties:

Greets all individuals
entering the room, encourages conversation to fill lapses, and generally
keeps chat moving in a positive direction. Assists beginners with any other
questions they might have regarding the chat forum. Moderates disruptive
influences in the room in accordance with our Passive Resistance Policy. |

Requirements:

In order to complete
the duties of this position all candidates should meet the following prerequisites;

Complete familiarity with
the content of TGE's website including the Passive
Resistance Policy for chat.

A friendly, personable
nature, observant of good chat etiquette.

Notes:
|
A Chat Host/Hostess
is a relatively high profile public contact position with very little direct
supervision and as such, individuals in this position must be responsible.
The Garden chat rooms are open forums. Not all persons entering these chats
will themselves be transgendered, nor even familiar with the topic or terminology
of TG life. And although the primary goal in this room is peer support,
we believe that it is in the best interest of the TG community as a whole
to welcome these visitors as long as they conduct themselves politely.
Because of this from time to time there are bound to be misunderstandings
between these visitors and our TG participants and our Hosts/Hostesses
should make every effort to moderate these conflicts as fairly and impartially
as possible. |

Conditions:
|
While this a voluntary
position those chosen serve at the will of the general membership of TGE
and are appointed by it's directors. The number of positions is limited
to between 5-10, and as such may be changed on a regular basis to allow
the opportunity for all of those interested to have the opportunity to
participate. |
