Hello everyone, my name is Shantae and I live in Boise, Idaho. I was born
here in 1950, as was my dad before me, and my granddad came here on horse
back in the 1890's or early 1900's so we've been here a while, lol.
I've felt that for a long time that I was born into the wrong body,
for being a guy didn't make any sense to me. Like most TS's, for years
I just thought I was nuts and shut down all of my emotions so I didn't
have to feel anymore, and there for didn't hurt. While that was not really
a good idea, it was about the best I could do at the time. But years and
years later, when I started working with kids at a local school as a
playground teacher, I started looking out side of my self and thinking
of others again and that brought old things that I'd tried to forget about
all flooding back. For the first time in over 30 years my emotions were
working again. I have been full time now for a little over a year and all
I need now is the money for surgery, but that's probably enough about me
for now. If you would like to know more perhaps we can chat in the Garden
sometime.
I like living in Idaho, and being the regional director for TGE
here if anyone would like to e-mail me, please feel free to do so. If anyone
is in Boise or should be passing by, e-mail me a day or so ahead of time,
and we will see if we can't get together for coffee or something. I'd love
to hear from anyone who is going though the change, and if you live in
Idaho the laws here don't help a lot. About the only help a TS or TG will
get under Idaho law is your name change, they don't seem to have a problem
with that. But if you would like to talk to me, I'll do what I can to help,
thats what I'm here for.
