Hi there! My name is Deanna Marie Gentry.
As a pre-op MtF transsexual myself, my own journey down the pathway of
self discovery and acceptance is very much an ongoing process. Yet having
found the courage and belief to at last be the person that I am, there
is just no way that I could ever give up the freedom of my soul and go
back to living as I was before. Having spent the majority of my life so
far feeling alone, isolated from the rest of humanity by the nature of
my own thoughts about who I really was, there are no words that could express
the value that I put on being able to meet and share experiences with other
transgendered persons. Over the last few years I've had the opportunity
to participate in several different groups and there is no substitute for
that sense of belonging.
As a co-founder of TGE my vision was to bring together the
best ideas of the organizations I had been involved with, and leave out
the negatives. To create a group where all transgendered people, regardless
of their individual lifestyle choices, could come together in the spirit
of friendship and mutual support. After all, there are quite enough people
out there that don't want to accept us, we should at least be able to accept
and support one another.
